Kitten Trapped Between Boulders for Two Days Rescued Just in Time

A small cream-colored kitten found himself in a life-threatening situation after becoming trapped between two massive construction boulders for at least two days.

The incident took place at a home on Greenville Avenue in Johnson, Rhode Island, where the kitten’s cries for help caught the attention of the homeowner.

Determined to find the source of the desperate meows, the homeowner discovered the kitten wedged in a narrow gap, just a few inches wide.

Realizing the kitten couldn’t free himself, she quickly called for help.

Rescue crews from the Johnson Police Animal Control and the local fire department arrived on the scene. To reach the kitten safely, they used a tool commonly known as the Jaws of Life to gently pry apart the heavy stones.

Though clearly frightened, the kitten remained calm as rescuers stroked him gently to keep him comforted throughout the process.

Officer Erin Medeiros, who helped lead the rescue, described the careful coordination behind the effort. “He was quiet when we did that.

All the guys tried to figure out the best way to handle the situation,” she explained. “We had multiple firefighters holding on from both sides in case anything shifted.”

The kitten, later nicknamed “Soldier” for his resilience, also earned the name “Stunner,” a nod to the miracle of his survival.

After being freed, he was placed in the loving care of Julie Ring, who immediately offered to foster him.

Thanks to the teamwork of first responders and kind-hearted individuals, Stunner is now safe, healthy, and thriving in foster care.

His rescue is a powerful reminder of how quick action and compassion can turn a near-tragedy into a story of hope and survival.
